Our clients’ home, located on the east side of Sonoma with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Tamalpais, sadly, burnt to the ground in the late 2017 Tubbs fire. This wildfire devastated so much of Sonoma County and for these homeowners, the loss, sorrow, and questions about how to move forward were challenging. Many of the large trees on this property were damaged and had to be removed. The owners wanted to rebuild with a more modern and family friendly design.

SOLUTION

Stately Construction built this beautiful modern home with plans prepared by the client’s architect. Many of the trees shaded the home prior to the fire so soffits were incorporated on the home’s south and west sides providing passive solar to keep the home cool. A 16- foot ceiling on the great room was covered in cedar that extended down the fireplace wall giving the space a warm inviting feel.  All County codes for new home builds were incorporated into the design using materials mitigating any future damage from wildfires for this magnificent home, after all, one loss is enough for a lifetime.
